The Association of Christian Childbirth Professionals was founded in April 1997 to recognize the need for a unifying Christian presence in the field of childbirth. The ACCP helps Christian parents locate Christian professionals to serve them as they give birth to their baby. Additionally, the ACCP serves to promote the Christian childbirth profession to the Body of Christ for the spiritual protection of the babies and their parents.
Who We Are
The ACCP is made up of many types of childbirth professionals, all of whom have stated their agreement with our Statement of Faith. Membership may include doctors, midwives, doulas, childbirth educators, and alternative practitioners.
What We Believe
In a nutshell, we are Christians, plain and simple. Followers of Jesus Christ. We are of many denominations, but we have one thing in common: we all believe in the sufficiency of Jesus’ finished work on the cross where He paid the price of sin, once and for all. Each of us professes to have entered into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by accepting His sacrifice on our behalf, and we acknowledge Him as Lord of our lives. Our belief in Jesus Christ has an impact on everything we do, and since the thing we are talking about here is childbirth, we have also laid out our beliefs as they relate to birth and babies. This is a vital part of who we are - our Philosophy of Birth defines how we put our Christian faith into practice as we work with parents and babies. God is not silent on these matters, but He speaks through His Word (the Bible) and through His creation (nature). We encourage you to examine our Philosophy of Birth. It may surprise you!
